Development for Terraria 1.4.4 update Labor of Love is now “in the end game” according to lead developer Andrew ‘Redigit’ Spinks – but the game’s creator says that while the team is done with serious suggestions, “nice suggestions are always welcome as usual.” The next big update to one of the best crafting games is the biggest since the Journey’s End update that was promised to be the last, and it seems you have less need for some of the best Terraria mods that have previous issues bypassed.
The Labor of Love patch promises to bring a huge wealth of quality of life changes to the sandbox game – some of the notable highlights include the addition of Terraria gear and a small but significant change that puts an end to the corrupt Terraria jungle misery. It sees almost all of your stockpiles increase from a 999 limit to 9999, translating into a massive Terraria stock expansion.
Now it looks like the update is getting very close. Spinks, who likes to interact with and often tease with the game’s player base, has continued to throw out small fragments along with the rest of Re-Logic’s development staff. In response to a player requesting a fix for a long-standing background visual glitch, Spink’s comments“I can’t remember, but I think we fixed that early in this update.”
Spinks has also threatened that the game’s infamous clown has been given a buff – many years ago, the disturbingly high-spirited enemy dropped bombs that could destroy blocks (including those from your carefully constructed home), before nerfing them. This has led to speculation from players that the nightmare feature could return. Spinks also responded to a question about doors saying in a rather contemplative way, “I think we could use more door types in general, especially larger ones.”
In addition to Twitter, Spinks has also been active on the game’s subreddit, confirming that some popular fan requests will be included, such as the Digging Molecart which is acquired earlier in the game’s progress when it is more useful. In more aesthetically related news, Spinks bragged that glowing mushrooms now give off light that matches the color they are painted in, and that they match the color of the grass they grow on. He still won’t reveal what the new one is secret of the angel statue Is however.
Spinks even laughs at his own expense over a humorous comment from leading Terraria YouTuber ChippyGaming, who noted, “No more suggestions for 1.4.4 – just for 1.5,” implying that the team will never be able to play the game. . In answer, Spink’s jokes“Ah yes, 1.5 the long-awaited final update”, referring to the many previous releases labeled as such.
We’re in the endgame and done taking serious suggestions for 1.4.4. For nice suggestions are always welcome as usual
